Head Start Enrollment
The Head Start program, which serves children aged 3 to 5, teaches vulnerable young children the skills they need to succeed in school and in life. Healthy ties between parents and other essential family members are also encouraged in Head Start programs, with a focus on family well-being
Here at Fort Peck Tribes Head Start we also put high value on encourages and incorporating cultural enrichment. From early language use to drum group we try to utilize all the aspects of Native life in daily activities.
Ages: 3 to 5 years old.
Class length: Children who attend a full day session go Monday through Friday for 6.5 hours typically from 8:00am to 2:30pm (changes per site location). For 3 year olds, there are half day sessions. Children enrolled in the half-day AM session attend school from 8:00am to 11:30am. Children enrolled in the half-day PM session attend school from 12:00pm-3:30pm.
Child to Teacher Ratio: There is a 1:10 ratio per classroom, where there are 2 teachers for every 20 students.
Food Half-Day: Children attending the half-day AM session receive breakfast and a snack. Children attending the half-day PM session are provided lunch and a snack.
Food Full-Day: Children attending the full day session will receive breakfast, lunch, and a snack. All food is provided for the children and follow the CACFP nutrition standards.
Diapers, Wipes, and Pull-Ups: During their time at the center, the preschoolers are given diapers, wipes, and pull-ups.

Income Verification. Income tax returns, 1040, W2, 12-month pay stubs, signed statement from employer, or evidence of TANF and SSI (for one year)
Verifcation of a Child's Birth
Immunizatiron Records (Use medical form below for screenings)
Papers Concerning Custody (If Applicable)
Applications can be submitted at any of our locations. Once received by our family services team, you will receive a call regarding your child's entrance or further instructions on any additional information that amy be required at that time.
